Ideas for assignment
I've had a few ideas for the 'media issue' that I'll pursue via this blog:
a) look at day and date releasing and the schedule of 'blockbuster' or
'tentpole' films due for release in Summer 2005
b) look at the marketing and promotion strategies for the 3 British short films that received Oscar nominations this year (this would be of most direct practical use to me in marketing my own short films) http://www.oscars.org/77academyawards/nomswins.html
c) track the release of a film due out next week - what marketing approach is it taking, what audience is it aiming for, how does it perform in the box office, what are reviews like etc etc
I may check these ideas out with David Grigg online.

Great start Stuart, Alistair Scott is the tutor on this section with whom you should check out your ideas. To me they sound good, especially tracking something that you have a particular interest in. Have a look at Channel 4 Short film, check out MMoL noticeboard fo link...
